Congress Hotel Vienna Enjoying a central location across the street from the railway station, the Congress Hotel opened its doors in 1900 as the Riva Hotel which hosted the visitors of Emperor Franz Josef then. The Congress hotel is located in downtown Vienna, opposite the Main Railway Station (Südbahnhof) and within 15 minutes walking distance to the old town of the City. The underground (metro) stop Südtiroler Platz is located next to the Hotel, within 4 minutes (2 stops) you will reach the Opera House and the Ringstrasse, within 5 minutes (3 stops) you will reach the famous St. Stephan´s Cathedral. The Messe Wien (Vienna Exhibition Center) and the Austria Center can be reached by public transportation in just 20 minutes. Hotel Congress is also comfortably accessible by car using the Autobahn exit "Landstrasser Hauptstrasse" on the "Gürtel" (Belt Parkway) direction "Südbahnhof" (South Railway Station). There is a public parking lot directly across the street (at the reception desk, you will get the reduced parking ticket).
